That would have been a terrible mistake. At the very last minute before it expired, I grabbed a friend and we went off for a culinary luncheon adventure. Located in a strip mall in North Irving, it appeared to be just another ordinary small place to grab a bite for lunch. I was so mistaken. Upon opening the door a huge dining room was revealed along with many tables filling the area. Many of the tables were arranged for large groups, which I thought unusual until I noticed several big groups arriving.
Luckily we had beat the crowd and grabbed our plates and headed to the long spread of well loved and some unusual traditional dishes. Several salads, besides the traditional Greek and Tabouli, were so tempting, along with the hummus, fruits and rice pudding that I just took a sampling of several before moving on to the vegetables.
Once again the choices were difficult, I skipped the potatoes and headed for the eggplant and was not disappointed. The meat entrees were plentiful and varied there was even fried chicken for those not wanting the more exotic selections. I especially enjoyed the kofta, thin strips of ground meat, going back for seconds. My friend enjoyed a fish stew and said the fish was not overcooked as is often the case in buffets. The room filled fast, the lines moved quickly and the patrons were reflective of the cultural diversity found in Irving.
It was obvious from all the building and business ID tags that many of them worked in the area and were well acquainted with the fare. As for dessert, the traditional baklava was small enough to enjoy without feeling guilty, extra honey was provided if one wanted to step over that line and guild the lily. I didn't, and I did not regret one sweet bite. There were other selections as well, we were full and did not want to have to be wheeled out so we stopped with just the one choice.
Drinks were included.

That's a deal, and by the quality of food we sampled they should be the best bargain around. We will go back. I bought a Groupon to try Demassi's out. I was glad I did and didn't pay full price.

We went around 6 in the evening and the first thing noticed was that the place did not appear clean and it resembled a cafeteria. There had been no attempt to decorate the interior and make it more inviting. The buffet had an ok selection and the cold section was much better in taste and appearance than the hot dishes. The Bamia okra stew , kibbi, and bread were all very good. Dessert and drinks are included in the price. For some reason the day we ate there the ice tea smelled like sewage.
Perhaps it had to do with problems caused by the recent rains in the DFW area. I went in with high expectations but will not return. There are much better choices for Mediterranean buffets. I liked beef and lamb kabob. The restaurant is nice. The service was good. The parking lot is large. This was my first visit and it was surprisingly good. If you are not sure if you like Mediterranean food and want to try it, I recommend getting the buffet.
The buffet had a wide variety of salads, different vegetables and meats. The hummus is delicious and they have great pastries. We ordered the appetizer sampler and it was pretty good, but it came out in three different stages all 10 minutes apart. By the time they asked if we wanted dinner, we were worn out from the smoke and awful chairs so we left.
We have friends who had raved about Afrah's entrees so when we were given a chance to try some of Afrah's food at a catered event, VIP meal at the Wildflower Fest we did. And, wow! The food was so delicious and was served with smiles. The serving sizes were very generous. We will be eating on location very soon. Own or manage this property?
